QUESTION 260 (4 marks)

A 5050-turn stationary coil has the per-turn flux graph shown. Positive flux is out of the page. Positive EMF drives counterclockwise conventional current, corresponding to the outward normal. Ignore self-inductance.
Piecewise linear per-turn flux: 0 to 0.200 mWb by 10 ms, constant to 30 ms, then to zero at 50 ms; blank signed EMF axes alongside.
a)
On the blank axes, sketch signed EMF against time for the three intervals. Label the EMF levels. Do not assign a value at the idealised sharp corners.
[3 marks]
b)
State the conventional current direction in a closed coil during the final interval.
