Up quarks are fundamental particles that experience the strong
nuclear force and may be combined with other quarks to form
mesons and baryons.
Tau particles are also fundamental particles belonging to the
lepton group of subatomic particles. These particles
experience the weak nuclear force, and unlike quarks they do
not combine with other leptons to form other subatomic
particles.
