Practice marking scheme
5 marksANSWERx=6π, 2π, 65π. Worked solution
f′(x)=cosx−sin(2x)=cosx(1−2sinx). Hence cosx=0 gives x=π/2, and sinx=1/2 gives x=π/6,5π/6. Differentiates the function correctly.
[1 mark]Factors as cosx(1−2sinx). [1 mark]Obtains x=π/2. [1 mark]Obtains x=π/6 and 5π/6. [1 mark]Reports all interior stationary points.
